GTN Home Internet for foreign residents: documents, language support and costs when you leave

Fibre from GTN, the company behind GTN Mobile, a SIM provider for foreign residents. After you send the application form, GTN staff contact you in your preferred language by email and phone, and GTN Mobile's support centre covers 13 languages (not stated specifically for the fibre service). The listed prices are for a two-year contract. The fibre page does not give the cancellation fee or the payment methods, so ask before you apply. This site has no affiliate partnership with GTN.

Sakura Fiber Internet for foreign residents: documents, language support and costs when you leave

Fibre you can apply for and manage in English. Sakura Mobile says its Japanese-speaking staff will confirm installation conditions with your landlord and provide an interpreter on installation day. It is month to month with no cancellation fee, but it is the most expensive of the six providers here. It accepts cards issued outside Japan and cash payment at convenience stores. This site has no affiliate partnership with Sakura Mobile.

GMO Tokutoku BB Hikari for foreign residents: documents, language support and costs when you leave

Of the six providers in our table (each company's official 1 Gbps monthly price including tax, without campaign discounts; au's apartment price includes the modem), it is the cheapest for both houses and apartments (GMO Tokutoku BB Hikari checked on 27 September 2026, the other five on 3 October 2026). There is no cancellation fee if you leave early, although you still pay whatever is left of the installation fee. The downside: everything is in Japanese, and it only accepts credit cards issued in Japan.
